The eXtendable Transport Protocol (XTP) was an initiative we undertook in 2011 to provide a generic network device driver capable of being extended for rapid custom network protocol development. XTP provides a modular C/C++ API and C#.NET wrapper libraries that can be used for quickly defining protocol data to be sent "across the wire", as well as a server/client simulator for quickly viewing protocol data as it traverses the network. XTP currently supports protocol development over a TCP connection only. Future features will include support for UDP network, and serial/USB (COM) port connections.
